The Effect of Sexual Knowledge, Sexual Attitude, Significance of Sex Life of Male Elderly People on the Behaviors Coping with Sexual Desire

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, significance of sex life of male elderly people on their behaviors coping with sexual desire importance on the coping behavior of sexual desire among male elderly people. For this purpose, this study interviewed 140 male elderly people of 65 years or older living in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas. According to the survey on the perception of the significance of sex life of the male elderly people, the highest level (3.89 points) was found in the item "If the elderly can freely free their sex life, they can be stabilized psychologically and emotionally”. The items "Sexual life makes me feel alive (3.84 points),” and "If I can not live sexually, I will lose my life motivation (3.61 points)” are following. Thus, it can be seen that male elderly people generally perceive that sex life is important. According to the results of verifying the relationship among sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, and significance of sex life on their behaviors coping with sexual desire of male elderly people, sexual knowledge and sexual attitude have significant effects on the behaviors coping with sexual desire. *Key Words: sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual desire, significance of sex life, male elderly people
